The Coffeehouse
You probably know Front Porch as the free coffeehouse just off Cal Poly's campus.
And you're right. We serve free drip coffee, espresso drinks, and tea to every Cal Poly and Cuesta student, as well as faculty, staff, and others directly connected to those campuses.
The coffee matters, but what happens around it matters even more.
Sharing a coffee has a way of slowing us down, creating conversation, and making room for the kinds of relationships that can shape a college experience. We hope that every cup is an opportunity for someone to feel welcomed, known, and like they belong.

We're open throughout the academic year whenever classes are in session.

Our hours are made possible by student volunteers. While these are the hours we aim to keep each semester, they may occasionally vary based on volunteer availability.

Front Porch is located just off Cal Poly's campus at 1468 E. Foothill Blvd.
If you're coming from campus, we're often described as being behind the Health Center. You'll also find us right next to our neighbors, The Newman Catholic Center and the Alpha Chi Omega (AXO) sorority.
Parking: Because our parking lot is very limited, we aren't able to offer parking for student coffeehouse volunteers. If you're visiting as a community volunteer, providing a meal, or stopping by for another scheduled reason, let us know in advance and we'll do our best to reserve a space for you.
Always on the House
Whether you're grabbing something between classes or settling in for an afternoon of studying, everything we serve is free for Cal Poly and Cuesta students. Just order at the coffee bar, and one of our student volunteers will be happy to make your drink.

Every drink is prepared by student volunteers who choose to spend one hour each week helping create the kind of community they want to be part of.
You don't need coffee experience. We'll teach you everything you need to know. More than learning to steam milk or pull espresso shots, you'll become part of welcoming hundreds of students each week.
