Some of the most meaningful moments at Front Porch happen when people gather around a table, share a meal, hear live music, try something new, or simply spend an evening together.

Our events aren't just things to do. They're opportunities to build community. To meet someone new. To reconnect with a friend. To linger a little longer after class. To find people who make a big campus feel a little smaller.

We don't gather because there's always something extraordinary happening. We gather because community is built through ordinary moments shared over time. A conversation after dinner. A familiar face each Wednesday. A game that turns strangers into friends. Simply showing up, week after week.

Throughout the year, we host weekly gatherings, semester traditions, and special events that create space for those moments to happen. Whether it's your first time walking through our doors or you've been coming for years, there's always a place for you to pull up a chair and join in.

Porch Nights

Wednesday nights are a weekly reminder of what Front Porch is all about. Around shared tables, conversations unfold, strangers become friends, familiar faces reconnect, and ordinary moments become the foundation of community.

Share a Meal

Every Wednesday, one of our community partners prepares a free homemade dinner for students. Come grab a plate, slow down after a busy day, and enjoy a meal that's meant to be shared.

Experience the incredible talent within the Front Porch community. From student bands and solo artists to local musicians, each week brings a creative energy that makes every Porch Night unique.

The best part of Porch Night is the people. Conversations around the dinner table, familiar faces that become friends, and the simple reminder that every person has a place here.

Throughout the Semester

While Porch Night is the heartbeat of each week, every semester brings new opportunities to gather, celebrate, create, and serve together. From camping trips to open mic nights, these events invite students to experience community in new ways throughout the year.

  • We start the year on the lake and end it in the mountains. Each fall, we spend a weekend at Lake Nacimiento boating, wake surfing, and building new friendships. Each spring, we head to Yosemite to hike, reflect, and celebrate another year of life together.

  • Throughout the year, we partner with student clubs and organizations to celebrate the creativity within our campus community. From live music and dance to comedy, poetry, and storytelling, Open Mic Nights give students a platform to share their talents and cheer one another on.

  • Front Porch wouldn't be Front Porch without our incredible student volunteers. Throughout the semester, we host monthly volunteer gatherings as a way to say thank you, build community, and simply enjoy spending time together outside of serving. Whether it's a Saturday morning breakfast, tie dye and donuts, pickleball and snacks, or an ice cream game night, these moments are a small way of celebrating the people who make this place possible.

  • Front Porch has always been shaped by the people who call it home. Some events started with an idea, a hobby, or a student who wondered, "What if we...?" Our staff and students are always dreaming up new ways to bring people together, so every year looks a little different.
